Chris Schmiedeke – chris@CrossFitLakeHighlands.com
I have been heavily involved in athletics all my life. In my later years I was a competitive cyclists racing as a Category 3 on the road and Expert on the Mountain Bike. After my wife Lisa and I had our first child I could no longer find the time to train to be competitive in cycling so I was searching for a competition fix that was just as intense as bike racing, but shorter in duration. For years I struggled with personal trainers and wasted gym memberships until I found CrossFit. I first read about CrossFit in Men’s Health magazine and knew it was exactly what I was looking for. That was November of 2008. I joined CrossFit the following December and have never looked back.

Kristen Barnett – kristen@CrossFitLakeHighlands.com
Sports have been my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up playing a variety of sports including basketball, tennis, fast pitch softball and volleyball. If I was not playing sports, I was watching them. After having a desk job for 10+ years and 2 wonderful children, I was looking for a way to get fit again. A friend introduced me to CrossFit and it has truly changed my life. Not only did it allow me to shed weight and gain strength, it brought back my competitive spirit. I have been doing CrossFit since June 2009 and can’t imagine doing anything else. CrossFit has also become a family affair for us as my husband, Mark, is a CrossFit coach and my children, Jacqueline and Andy, love attending CrossFit Kids classes. CrossFit truly is a way of life for the Barnett family.
